CACHE Level 2 Certificate for Teaching Assistants (CTA2)

What entry qualifications do you need?
You must be at least 16 years of age with GCSE or equivalent at D grade or above.
What will you learn?
You will learn how to support the teacher in a school.
What age range of children is the award about?
Children of any age in reception, primary, secondary or special school.
How will you be assessed?
One internally marked assignment and one externally marked assignment.
Will there be practical placements during the course?
You should work for at least 120 hours in a school setting.
How many teaching hours?
Approximately 120 hours.

CACHE Level 3 Certificate for Teaching Assistants (CTA3), NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants.

This award has been approved as a technical certificate for a Foundation Apprenticeship.
NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistants (NVQ TA 2)
Who is it for?
People working in or wanting to work in this field, who support teachers and who work largely under supervision particularly supporting the numeracy and literacy strategies.
What entry qualifications do you need?
No formal entry qualifications needed.
What age range of children is the award about?
Children of any age in reception, primary, secondary or special school.
How will you be assessed?
An approved assessor will visit you in your workplace to assess your practical competence, knowledge and understanding. You will need to submit a portfolio to show your competence in all areas of the Award.
How long do you have to complete the award?
You will be registered with CACHE for the period of the Award, but will need to check with your Centre how long you contract is with them.
How many teaching hours?
Approximately 120 hours.
What other qualifications can you do when you finish this award?
NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant (if working in a Level 3 job role).
CACHE Level 3 vocationally related qualifications eg. CTA3, DCE, DPP.

Fees
FNTC has access to government funding through the learning and skills council dependent on the time of the year. You need to be 16 to 25 years old to qualify for government funded training. Please apply early to avoid disappointment.
