Who we are and what we do
Fawley Nursery Training Centre (FNTC) was established as the sister company to the Fawley Independent Day Nursery in January 2000 to provide childcare training for local nurseries. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight contract was awarded in May 2000. Towards the end of 2002, FNTC approached OCR for accreditation to deliver NVQs in Management, Business Administration and Customer Service to expand the delivery of programmes at the Centre. Fawley Nursery Training Centre became FNTC Training & Consultancy Ltd in March 2003. The FNTC Isle of Wight office opened in 2004 and is currently based in Newport.
In keeping with local training needs FNTC further expanded its programmes and in 2004 partnered with CMI to deliver Management courses at level 3, including the Certificate in Management. Accreditation with additional Awarding Bodies now means that Apprenticeships, Train to gain and work based learning courses currently available include:
- Management: Level 3
- Team Leading: Level 2
- Business Administration: Level 2 & 3
- Customer Service: Level 2
- Child Care Learning & Development: Level 2, 3 & 4
- Teaching Assistants: Level 2 & 3
- Health & Social Care: Level 2 & 3
- Certificate in Childcare and Education (CCE)
- A1 and V1 training
- Key skills
- Basic skills / skills for life
In December 2005 FNTC received a Grade 2 across board from the Adult Learning Inspectorate (ALI). This has rated us in the top 151 providers and colleges in the country and enabled FNTC to be listed on the ALI Excellent Provider list which was announced in December 2006. This prestigious title was only given to two other colleges in the whole of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight at the time.
FNTC currently delivers to approximately 750 learners employing 60 staff providing delivery of training to Hampshire, Isle of Wight, and the South West. We have offices in Totton, Isle of Wight, Bournemouth & Salisbury.
